Innovate UK - LEGO Project

ALP Technologies was granted R&D funding from Innovate UK to develop a novel module li-ion battery storage solution called LEGO.  It incorporates several innovative designs that address safety, cost and on-ground maintainability of a highly scalable battery module system.

This project will demonstrate an innovative battery system that utilizes common
li-ion battery cells for energy storage in a small-scale distributed power plant using renewables.  A significant cost reduction has already been demonstrated comparing to similar sized system.  Moreover, the novel design and engineering allows for ongoing battery maintenance hence the entire battery system benefits from a significantly longer life and improved affordability.
